Successful SIS Progress Inspection

To all our parents, staff and friends,

Some of you may be aware that before half term we were visited by SIS for our final progress monitoring report. The inspectors were happy with the work we’ve been doing and felt that we are now meeting all the standards required. They concluded that any issues from their initial report in May have been addressed and the changes have gone deep into the school.

The full report can now be downloaded here,  but below are a few quotes from the monitoring report for you to enjoy-

“There are excellent links with Calderdale safeguarding team and other agencies including Barnardos”

“The School Manager’s enhanced role has enabled the school to become proactive in developing and implementing risk assessments”

“The school leadership and management are promoting safeguarding and pupils welfare effectively, alongside attending Prevent agenda issues”

“The quality of teaching was good and overall has improved since the full inspection in May 2017”

“The good range of activities in other lessons similarly contribute to the quality of teaching”

“The teaching of music was outstanding”

“The children in the Kindergarten classes benefit from the strong emphasis on outdoor learning during their daily walks”

A massive pat on the back to all staff for all the extra hard work and energy that has been put into the school since May 2017 to enable all these changes to happen!
