The children at the Calder Valley Steiner school have been busy organising a Christmas shoe box appeal to donate to the refugee children at the St Augustines Centre on Hanson Lane in Halifax. The boxes are filled with lots of lovely gifts, some handmade and some practical items and of course small toys and sweet treats! This is the second year running that the children have donated to the St. Augustines centre and the children really enjoy putting the boxes together and making them special. It’s wonderful for the children to be involved in something like this to show kindness and help others that are less fortunate than themselves.
St Augustine’s aim is to support and help build community. It welcomes the vulnerable and cares for all, offering a safe sanctuary with access to support and advice.
