What an amazing lantern festival we had this year, bringing light to the autumn darkness with our Steiner School community.
We lit a bonfire in the school garden, strung fairy lights from the trees and the children shared the story of St Martin, who the festival is named after. As a Roman soldier, St Martin gave away his cloak to a beggar, and devoted the rest of his life to showing unconditional love towards all his fellow human beings.
The school children and parent & child group families lit the beautiful lanterns they had made from the flame of the bonfire. It was a magical scene to see everyone walking along the path singing the lantern song.
Thank you to all the families who bought food as part of our school fundraising and to the staff who worked so tirelessly to make this event happen and create such a beautiful festival of light.
